What is a buttock enhancement?
A buttock enhancement or BBL entails the enlargement of the buttocks with regard to width and/or projection via implant, lift or fat transfer. Most BBL’s are performed with fat transfer. Most times the waist is reduced and the buttocks and/or hips are enlarged depending on patient desires.
Am I a candidate for a buttock enhancement?
You may be considered a good candidate if your answer is yes to any of the following questions:
- Does my booty feel underdeveloped or flat?
- Is my buttocks saggy and shapeless?
- Do I wish to see a profile buttocks that appears round and shapely with a small waist?
- Do my jeans sag in the posterior?
- Do I just love Kim Kardashian’s shapely back side?
What are the results?
Results include increased fullness, roundness, and projection of the buttocks, improved figure balance, increased buttock volume, smooth skin and possible reduced cellulite.
What can I expect?
Results can improve body shape while adding curves and projection. The most difficult part of the BBL is the two-four-week post op period that requires standing as much as possible to reduce pressure on the buttocks. Pressure can cause increased absorption of the fat and stem cells. Hence, reducing possible
results. If implants or uplift are performed, sitting is still part of a difficult recovery. If fat transfer is used for the BBL, be reminded that a second procedure maybe require due to fat reabsorption.
What are my options?
The buttocks can be enhanced by a butt lift, butt implant, fat transfer, or combination. A BBL is a fat transfer from one area of the body into the tissues of the buttocks. This fat transfer improves the contour, size and/or shape, and volume of the buttocks. Fat can be transferred to increase the projection of the buttocks and/or increase the width of the lateral hips for more curves from the front view. Buttock implants are silicone-filled devices that are surgically placed deep within the tissues of the buttock to improve the contour, size and/or shape, and volume of the buttocks. Implants are usually suggested when a patient does not have enough fat volume for a fat transfer! Aging, sun damage, pregnancy, significant fluctuations in weight, and genetic factors may contribute to poor tissue elasticity that can result in sagging of the buttocks. A buttock lift removes this excess sagging skin and fat. This can improve the shape and tone of the underlying tissue that supports the skin and fat in the buttock area. A traditional butt lift or gluteal lift will not make a butt larger but may improve a dimpled, irregular skin surface along with sagging.
