What is facelift?

A facelift surgery targets the aging and sagging skin of the lower face and neck. It lifts and firms the sagging facial and neck tissues, by re-draping the skin and tightening the underlying SMAS (supporting connective tissue of the face); hence, restoring a naturally youthful appearance. The surgery can “turn back the clock” making a patient feel rejuvenated and young again. This type of facelift is called a PCL (Platysma Cervical Lift) facelift.

Am I a candidate for facelift?

You may be considered a good candidate if your answer is yes to any of the following questions:

• Are you fighting wrinkles/sagging skin with moisturizers, but disappointed with the lack of results?
• Do you have sagging of the skin from your cheeks to your jawline?

What are the results?

The results of a PCL facelift are dramatic and truly transport you back through time! You will feel refreshed and renewed! Your skin will be incredibly smoother, allowing make-up to glide on better than before. You will love exposing your neck again because the bands (ropey part of neck) have been tightened and are no longer prominent. The crepey neck skin is gone!

What can I expect?

The PCL facelift is approach to facial surgery specifically designed to produce a more natural appearance. It minimizes the “tip-offs” that give away the fact that a facelift has been done. Instead of simply pulling the facial skin back (the reason for a mask-like or “sucked through a wind tunnel” look), the PCL sculpts the internal framework of the face, tightening sagging facial muscles, and eliminating wrinkling of the neck.

What are my options?

Non-surgical options for facial rejuvenation are available via lasers, thread lifts and injectables. These options do not provide the same dramatic results as the PCL facelift. These options can be discussed during your consultation.
