Two Girlfriends Get Real…About a Real “Eye-Opener”

Published On: February 1, 2021

Charlee (her real name) and SAM (Susan Ann Marie) are girlfriends in real life and authors of Two Girlfriends Get Real About Plastic Surgery. Now they are here to answer your questions about what’s “out there,” what works, and what happens when you “go for it.” They can’t give medical advice, but they can tell you–from a girlfriend’s perspective–why getting older doesn’t mean giving up…on love, life, or looking great.

Sara B. emailed:

“Hey girlfriends, I’m 45, newly single, and want to date again. But I feel “too old” and OMG! The bags under my eyes make me look like I’m always tired. What can I do!”

SAM:

Sara, don’t fret. You’re not alone! Remember that you’re beautiful inside and out. However, erasing what the years have caused takes a little effort. Do the simple things first: eat healthfully, get enough rest, hydrate, exercise, and consider a professional makeover. But if all that doesn’t get you where you want to go, consider surgery. The eyes are the window to the soul. Consider a lower blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery). Removing the bags and excess skin will get rid of your tired, sad, or “grumpy” eyes.

CHARLEE:

OMG is right. If you feel “too old,” chances are that’s the image you project. Change it! Check your wardrobe. Is it drab and colorless? Brighten it up! How’s your hair? Same style since high school? Get to a salon for something rad. Check your life! Go out and get active, don’t sit in front of a screen. And those awful baggy eyes? I didn’t hesitate. I had the surgery and I looked great…and it changed the way I greeted the world.

The 2GGR summary for a lower blepharoplasty:

Down time: Bruising can last two to three weeks

Longevity: Years! 10 plus!

Affordability: About the same as a two-week Bahama vacation.

Wow Factor: Biggest bang for the buck. Even if you never do anything else surgically, the eyes have it!
